This 45-hour course is tuition-free to North Carolina law enforcement agencies. This training will provide narcotics and criminal investigators with the knowledge of proper planning methods and techniques for conducting a successful foot, vehicle, and stationary surveillance operation in an urban setting. Participants will receive instruction on: Operational Planning, Concealment Techniques, Prior Intelligence of Target Assessment, Safety Issues, Infiltration and Exfiltration Techniques, Equipment Needs, Personnel and Surveillance Strategies. This is a hands-on training exercise conducted under arduous conditions.
Participants should possess a working knowledge of video equipment and be prepared to use it during training.
This course is 90% field work. Please bring currently used cameras, trackers, or other surveillance equipment. You will need a covert or unmarked vehicle and one video/still camera for every three (3) people. Please do not intend on using marked vehicles in this class.
Out of state Agencies must make payment arrangements at Central Piedmont Community College. Agencies must provide hotel, lodging, meals, and transportation. Participants will receive continuing education college credits. There is night work in this class.
ALL STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE A CPCC LAW ENFORCEMENT REGISTRATION FORM PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF ANY CLASS OFFERED.
